Celebrate the New Year With Your Scout Elf!

Scout Elves love to celebrate, and a brand-new year is the perfect time for a party. Santa sometimes gives special permission for elves to return for the festivities, or your Scout Elf might be allowed to stay long enough after Christmas to ring in the coming year. Send a special request to Santa to ask! Keep reading for fabulous ideas for you and your Scout Elf to count down to the new year and to celebrate the start of something new!

New Year’s Countdown Goodie Bags

Scout Elves love to make every moment count! They’ll help you count down on New Year’s Eve with a small surprise for every hour. 

Materials:

  • Color printer
  • Card stock/paper
  • Printables
  • Scissors
  • 5 small gift bags 
  • Gifts for each bag (suggested: small puzzles and toys, candy, etc.) 

Instructions:

  1. Your elf will print and cut out the printable.  
  2. They’ll attach the printed clocks to five different gift bags, placing a small gift in each bag. 
  3. Your Scout Elf will celebrate as you open a gift every hour on the hour, leading up to midnight. Happy New Year! 

Scout Elf New Year’s Welcome 

It’s time for Scout Elves to kick off a New Year’s celebration, including a special message from the North Pole! 

Materials:

  • Color printer 
  • Printable
  • Card stock/paper 
  • Scissors
  • Party favors (noisemakers, party horns, hats, etc.) 
  • Decorations (confetti, streamers, etc.) 
  • Optional: any Elf Pets® plush animal 

Instructions:

  1. Your elf will print and cut out the printable. 
  2. Then, they will decorate and wait for you to join the New Year’s celebration! 

Scout Elf Confetti Snow Angel 

Scout Elves love to make snow angels, but a confetti angel is perfect for starting off a shiny new year! 

Materials:

  • Colorful confetti 

Instructions:

  1. Your Scout Elf will have a blast making confetti angels just in time for your New Year’s celebrations.  
  2. Then, you can join in the fun by pouring confetti into a cookie tray to try writing messages to your Scout Elf and your family! 

New Year’s Day Breakfast

No better way to “flip” the calendar to a new year than with a themed flapjack breakfast! Your Scout Elf will whip up this appetizing breakfast to begin a great year. 

Materials:

  • Pancakes prepared according to favorite recipe 
  • Colored sugar and/or edible metallic sprinkles 

Instructions:

  1. To celebrate the New Year, your elf will whip up four pancakes and cut them into number shapes. 
  2. Your elf will decorate the pancakes with sparkly sprinkles. They’ll leave some for you to add too! 
  3. Then, your elf will wait for you to join them for a fun breakfast to mark the start of a brand-new year.  


New Year’s Resolution and a Look Back

Take a walk down memory lane with your Scout Elf! Then, plan ahead for the exciting year to come. May all your wishes come true!

Materials:

Instructions:

  1. Your Scout Elf will print and cut out the printable. 
  2. They’ll write down their favorite memory and their hopes for the coming year. 
  3. Your Scout Elf will leave a blank printable for you to share your own memories and hopes. 
  4. Then, they’ll sit next to their paper and wait for you to join them!
