The Floor Is Ice!

In this cool elf caper, your Scout Elf must watch their step because the floor is made entirely of ice! How fast can they move around the ice?


Materials:

  • Color printer
  • Card stock/paper
  • Printable
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Boxes or presents

Instructions:

  1. Your elf will print and cut out the ice background (as many as needed).
  2. They will tape them on the floor to create an ice floor.
  3. Then, your elf will set up boxes or presents on the ice to use as stepping-stones so they make it across without touching the freezing floor!

Instructions:

  1. First, your elf will use washi tape to create a tic-tac-toe board.
  2. Then, they will choose one colored gift bow and tape it to a spot on the board.
  3. When you find them, it’ll be your turn!

Instructions:

  1. Your elf will use toilet paper to wrap your Christmas tree.
  2. Then, they will cut a black hat, an orange nose and circles for eyes and a mouth out of construction paper.
  3. They will tape the finishing touches onto the Christmas tree turned snowman!

Instructions:

  1. Fore! Nothing relaxes a Scout Elf more than a quick round of golf. Your Scout Elf will create a small putting green in your home by:
  2. Using scissors to cut out a unique shaped “green” out of felt or construction paper.
  3. Marking a hole on the course using a marker.
  4. Grabbing a candy cane to use as a putter, and a mini marshmallow to use as a golf ball. Hole in one!

Strawberry Santa Hats


Materials:

  • Mini brownies
  • White icing or whipped cream
  • Strawberries
  • Scout Elves at Play® tools: Peppermint Grappling Hook, Candy Cane Cable and Holiday Harness

Instructions:

  1. The Scout Elves are Santa’s biggest fans, and your Scout Elf has created a tasty treat to pay homage to the big man in red! After cutting off the tops of the strawberries, your Scout Elf will be ready to assemble these sweet “Santa hats.”
  2. Your Scout Elf will use icing or whipped cream to attach the strawberry to the top of a mini brownie.
  3. For a finishing touch, your Scout Elf will squeeze a dollop of icing or whipped cream to the top of the strawberry.
  4. Holding steady with the Holiday Harness, your elf will dangle the Peppermint Grappling Hook by some Candy Cane Cable to reach for this sweet treat! (Helpful hint: the Holiday Harness works best on smooth surfaces, like mirrors or tile!)

Fast Track to Fun

  1. Now that the season has arrived, your Scout Elf couldn’t wait to race into your home by creating their very own Scout Elf speedway! To create the perfect ride for their adventure, your elf will start by popping out the Scout Elf Sleigh, Snowy Signpost and Tinseltown Train crafts from the book Scout Elves at Play® Paper Crafts.
  2. Your elf will follow the instructions in the book to finish these crafts.
  3. Once complete, your elf will line their speedway with peppermints and washi or painter’s tape, and set up the Scout Elf Signpost near the finish line.
  4. Then your elf will climb aboard their favorite vehicle and get on the fast track to Christmas fun!

Holiday Hide-and-Seek

Instructions:

  1. One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi—your Scout Elf is hiding and they want you to find them! To create the perfect place to hide, your elf will start by piling up a mound of mini marshmallows.
  2. Next, your elf will pop out the Convertible Christmas Tree and Marvelous Message Cards and follow the instructions for the crafts in the book Scout Elves at Play® Paper Crafts.
  3. Finally, your elf will hide behind the mound of marshmallows and wait for you to find them!

People-Friendly Pupcakes


Materials:

  • 1 cup oat flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 8 oz. apple sauce
  • 1 ½ bananas, mashed
  • 8 oz. light cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp. peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • Large bowl
  • Muffin tin
  • Cupcake liners
  • Mixer
  • Oven
  • Elf Pets® Saint Bernard

Instructions:

  1. The more, the merrier—especially when it comes to sharing sweets! Your elf decided to help you and your favorite pups indulge in a yummy treat by mixing the first 8 ingredients for “pupcakes,” which any man, elf or Elf Pets® Saint Bernard can enjoy!
  2. Then, your elf will place cupcake papers in a muffin tin and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Your elf will start the recipe by mixing the first 8 ingredients for the pupcakes together in a bowl.
  4. After the ingredients are thoroughly combined, your elf will put the batter into the cupcake liners, leaving a ½ inch of space at the top (Helpful hint: the batter will not rise much).
  5. After baking about 12 minutes (or until a toothpick inserted into the pupcake comes out clean), your elf will let them cool.
  6. As they do, your elf will create the frosting by beating the softened cream cheese until fluffy, and then mixing in the peanut butter and honey.
  7. After icing each pupcake, your elf will invite everyone to dig in!
  8. Note: In general, all ingredients are pet friendly; however, Scout Elves should use their best judgment when creating this recipe to ensure their family’s pet is able to safely consume all ingredients.

Big Mess, Tiny Treat


Materials:

  • Sugar cookies
  • Green icing
  • Sprinkles
  • Googly eyes
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Baking ingredients
  • Kitchen items

Instructions:

  1. All eyes are on your elf as he or she makes a big mess while trying to make a tiny treat in a hurry! To pull off this quirky idea, your elf started by using glue dots to attach googly eyes to all the items around the kitchen.
  2. Using pipe cleaners, your elf will also attach small mouths to some of their items to show their surprise at the mess being made on the counter.
  3. Then, your elf will gather frosting, sprinkles and sugar cookies to make a tasty tree cookie. To do this, your elf will stack different sized sugar cookies and separate them with green icing to look like a little tree. Sprinkles on top will complete their festive—and messy—creation!

Sweet Darts


Materials:

  • Long strands of candy
  • Gumdrops
  • Tape

Instructions:

  1. Bullseye! Your Scout Elf wants to play a game, so he will raid your candy stash to find the perfect materials for this candy dartboard. Using long strands of candy—gelatin-based candies will work great for this project—your elf will create a few candy circles on the wall and secure them with tape.
  2. Then, your Scout Elf will test his or her aim and start throwing gumdrops at their new game board, trying to hit the bullseye. Your little ones are welcome to join in on the fun!
