Gingerbread Elf Contest
Ready, set, DECORATE!
Materials:
- Pre-made gingerbread cookies or your favorite cookie dough
- Cookie decorating items
- Color printer
- Card stock/copy paper
- Printable
- Scissors
Instructions:
- First, your Scout Elf will print, cut, and set out the printables.
- Next, they will prepare un-decorated gingerbread cookies.
- Then, the elf will lay out several cookie decorating items for you to use.
- Finally, you’ll race to see who can decorate the jolliest gingerbread people of all!
Wonder Wheel
“Is it me, or is the room spinning?”
Materials:
- Springform pan
- Adhesive (tape or glue dots)
- Optional: Christmas-themed wrapping paper
Instructions:
- First, your Scout Elf will have the option to wrap the springform pan with Christmas-themed wrapping paper.
- Next, they will place their hands and feet on all sides of the wheel (with the help of adhesive) and take a spin around the room!
Snowman Popcorn Cups
POP—goes the snowman!
Materials:
- Transparent drinking cups
- Permanent markers
- Ribbon
- Adhesive
- Your favorite popcorn
Instructions:
- First, your Scout Elf will pop their favorite popcorn.
- Next, they will prepare the transparent drinking cups by drawing a snowman’s face on the front and adhering a small ribbon around each one like a scarf.
- Finally, they will pour in the popcorn for everyone to enjoy!
Elf-cuterie Board
10/10 elves would recommend!
Materials:
- Serving platter
- Your favorite vegetable mix, meats, and cheeses
- Hummus
- Crackers
Instructions:
- Your Scout Elf will first wash the veggies and prepare the meats.
- Then they will arrange the food around the hummus to create a Scout Elf face!
- Lastly, they will serve up the perfect Christmas charcuterie board!
Pudding Up the Decorations
We hope you’re ready to start pudding up the decorations.
Materials:
- Your favorite pudding cups
- Paper towel
- Color printer
- Card stock/copy paper
- Printable
Instructions:
- Your Scout Elf will print and prepare the printable.
- Then the elf will pop open one of their favorite flavors of pudding and start eating (maybe with the help of an Elf Pet).
- Your Scout Elf might leave the Christmas decorations out to let you know it’s time to deck the halls and celebrate the season!
Tucked into BreadTucked into Bread
Just taking a quick snooze…
Materials:
- Sliced bread
- Plate
- Color printer
- Card stock/copy paper
- Printable
Instructions:
- First, the Scout Elf will open a loaf of bread and remove a few pieces.
- Next, they will prepare the printable card with a silly message.
- Finally, they will tuck themselves between the slices of bread for a cozy rest.
Soda Can Choir
“Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Dooo!”
Materials:
- Empty soda cans with tabs removed
- Pipe cleaners
- Googly eyes
- Paper
- Adhesive
- Scissors
Instructions:
- The Scout Elf will rinse out the cans and remove the tabs.
- Then they will adhere googly eyes to the top and pipe cleaners to the sides for arms.
- Next, they will cut and fold small sheets of copy paper to form choir booklets.
- Finally, your Scout Elf will arrange the choir for a “pop music” Christmas carol performance!
Household Item Disguise
“I’ll ketchup with you later!”
Materials:
- Color printer
- Cardstock/copy paper
- Printable
- Scissors
- Adhesive
Instructions:
- The Scout Elf will print and cut out the printable disguises and message card.
- Next, they will choose one for dress-up and hide in the place where that household item would most likely be found!
Spooky Snowmen Hot Cocoa Treats
Top off your Halloween hot cocoa with these spooky snowmen!
Materials:
- Your favorite hot cocoa
- Large and medium-sized marshmallows
- Orange and black icing
- Toothpicks
Instructions:
- First, your Scout Elf will whip up your favorite hot cocoa recipe!
- Second, they will gather marshmallows and use black and orange icing to create spooooky snowmen faces on some while adding snowman arms to others.
- Third, they will use toothpicks to secure the marshmallows into stacked snowmen and then stand them up on a plate.
- Finally, they will use these spooky snowmen as adorable Halloween-themed hot cocoa toppers!
ABCs Breakfast
Ready to eat your ABCs?
Materials:
- Apples
- Bacon
- Cream cheese and bagels
- Milk
- Eggs
- Your favorite fruits
- Printer
- Card stock/copy paper
- Printable
- Scissors
Instructions:
- First, your Scout Elf will print, cut, and set out the sign announcing the ABCs breakfast!
- Then they will wash and prepare all the ‘A’pples and ‘F’ruit for the fruit salad.
- Next, they will cook the ‘B’acon, toast the bagels and spread with ‘C’ream cheese, and prepare the ‘E’ggs your favorite way!
- Then they will set out the milk, or ‘D’airy.
- Finally, they’ll enjoy this tasty ABCs breakfast with kids before their first day of school!
Elf Pets Ice Cream
Materials:
- Chocolate and vanilla ice cream
- Ice cream cones
- Oval cookies
- Pretzels
- Yellow sprinkles
- Black icing
- Fruit tape
- Chocolate taffy
Instructions:
- Your Scout Elf will place three (one on each) scoops of ice cream onto sugar ice cream cones.
- Next, they will place pretzels on top of a chocolate scoop to look like reindeer antlers, oval shaped cookies on a vanilla scoop to look like Saint Bernard ears, and pointed cookie pieces on the second vanilla scoop to look like arctic fox ears.
- Then they will place black icing on each scoop to form a cute button nose and eyes.
- Lastly, your Scout Elf will use fruit tape and yellow icing to form Elf Pets collars and magic hearts.
- Your Scout Elf may add a flair of detail and form a Saint Bernard barrel from chocolate taffy and an Arctic Fox snow globe from a cookie!
Red & Green Lemonade
Materials:
- Pink lemonade powder
- Lemons
- Mint leaves
- Watermelon slices
Instructions:
- Your elf will prepare the lemonade according to the instructions.
- They will add sliced lemons, mint leaves and watermelon wedges to decorate and enhance the flavor.
Reindeer Sliders
Materials:
- Hamburger patties
- Buns
- Your favorite slider toppings and condiments
- Pretzels
- Black olives
- Sour cream
Instructions:
- First, your Scout Elf will lay out all of the slider toppings and buns.
- Next, they will grill the slider patties.
- Then the elf will put together the sliders according to how your family likes them!
- Finally, the Scout Elf will break pretzels in half and stick them in the top bun to look like reindeer antlers and use sour cream to attach black olive tips to look like eyes and a nose!
Snowman Fruit Salad
Materials:
- Three watermelons
- Blueberries
- Melon baller
- Twigs
- Small top hat
- Scarf
Instructions:
- Your Scout Elf will remove a thin slice from the side of each watermelon so it lays flat on the serving surface.
- Your elf will then carefully carve into the face-up side of two of the watermelons so they may scoop out the fruit with the melon baller.
- Once the melons are scooped down to the rind, your elf will pat dry the insides of the melon bowls before returning the melon balls and some blueberries to them.
- Your elf will use a few berries, halved, to form the snowman’s face atop the third watermelon.
- Finally, your Scout Elf will decorate the snowman with a scarf, top hat, and twigs!
Happy Hula-days
Who’s ready to hang ten? Have a Happy Hula-days while chilling with your surfer Scout Elf!
Materials:
- Color printer
- Card stock/copy paper
- Printable
- Scissors
- Three styrofoam balls in graduated sizes
- Toothpicks
- Play sand
- Liquid glue
- Decorations: twigs, pebbles, small top hat, one baby carrot
Instructions:
- Your elf will print and prepare the printable surf boards and message.
- Next, they will build a sandy snowman! To start, your elf will level the bottom of the largest styrofoam ball so it sits flat on the work surface.
- Then they will coat each of the three styrofoam balls with glue and then sand. They’ll use toothpicks between the coated styrofoam balls to balance one on top of the next. Lastly, they will place twigs as arms, pebbles as eyes and mouth, a baby carrot for a nose, and place a small top hat on its head.
- Finally, the Scout Elf will chill out with their sand-man before getting ready to hit the waves!
North “Pool” Party
Are you ready to make a splash? Scout Elves are! Let’s have a North “Pool” party!
Materials:
- Bathroom or kitchen sink
- Blue tissue paper
- Color printer
- Card stock/copy paper
- Printable
- Scissors
- Elf-sized pool floats, beach balls, and beach accessories
Instructions:
- Your Scout Elf will fill the “pool” with blue tissue paper to look like water.
- Then they will set up their pool floats and beach accessories.
- Finally, they will get ready to catch some rays and enjoy a North “Pool” party!
Feeling Lucky Flapjacks
Feeling lucky? Scout Elves are ready to bake!
Materials:
- Your favorite pancake mix
- Green food coloring
- Whipped cream
- Sprinkles
Instructions:
- Your Scout Elf will prepare the pancake mix according to directions and slowly stir in food coloring until the mix is the desired shade of St. Patrick’s Day green.
- Next, the elf will pour small scoops of batter onto a griddle and flip over each flapjack when it’s ready.
- Finally, your Scout Elf will top the finished flapjacks with sprinkles and whipped cream. Then they’ll wait for you to enjoy!
Valentine’s Cookie Deco Party
Your Scout Elf learned from Mrs. Claus herself how to make the best holiday cookies! Who better than YOU to taste test their delicious edible love letters?
Materials:
- Heart-shaped cookies, baked according to favorite recipe
- Squeezable icing
- Colored sugar, sprinkles and/or edible glitter
Instructions:
- To celebrate Valentine’s Day, your Scout Elf will bake a batch of heart-shaped sugar cookies.
- They’ll decorate the cookies with squeezy icing and colorful sprinkles. They’ll leave some for you to decorate, too!
- Then, your Scout Elf will wait for you to join them for a sweet snack!
New Year’s Day Breakfast
No better way to “flip” the calendar to a new year than with a themed flapjack breakfast! Your Scout Elf will whip up this appetizing breakfast to begin a great year.
Materials:
- Pancakes prepared according to favorite recipe
- Colored sugar and/or edible metallic sprinkles
Instructions:
- To celebrate the New Year, your elf will whip up four pancakes and cut them into number shapes.
- Your elf will decorate the pancakes with sparkly sprinkles. They’ll leave some for you to add too!
- Then, your elf will wait for you to join them for a fun breakfast to mark the start of a brand-new year.
Holiday Scramble
An eggcellent surprise from your Scout Elf! Festive stickers and Christmas doodles make the morning merrier when you open the fridge.
Materials:
- Refrigerator
- Carton of eggs
- Markers
- Christmas stickers
Instructions:
- Your elf will gather markers and/or Christmas stickers and decorate the eggshells in the refrigerator. Scout Elves are eggs-perts at funny scenes like this!
