Elf Pets Ice Cream

Materials:

  • Chocolate and vanilla ice cream
  • Ice cream cones
  • Oval cookies
  • Pretzels
  • Yellow sprinkles
  • Black icing
  • Fruit tape
  • Chocolate taffy

Instructions:

  1. Your Scout Elf will place three (one on each) scoops of ice cream onto sugar ice cream cones.
  2. Next, they will place pretzels on top of a chocolate scoop to look like reindeer antlers, oval shaped cookies on a vanilla scoop to look like Saint Bernard ears, and pointed cookie pieces on the second vanilla scoop to look like arctic fox ears.
  3. Then they will place black icing on each scoop to form a cute button nose and eyes.
  4. Lastly, your Scout Elf will use fruit tape and yellow icing to form Elf Pets collars and magic hearts.
  5. Your Scout Elf may add a flair of detail and form a Saint Bernard barrel from chocolate taffy and an Arctic Fox snow globe from a cookie!

Safety Warnings

Dog Days of Summer Treat

It’s never a “ruff” life with these sweet treats! These all natural pupsicles are sweet enough for your pet AND for you to enjoy as well!


Materials:

  • Paw print freezer mold
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 cups seedless watermelon pieces
  • ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt (NO artificial sweetener)
  • Blender

Instructions:

  1. To begin, your Scout Elf will place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until everything is smooth and thoroughly combined.
  2. Next, they will pour the mixture into silicone molds of paw prints that look just like the Elf Pets Saint Bernard and freeze for at least 3 hours. They could even pour this mixture into regular popsicle molds for kids as well!
  3. Finally, your elf will transfer these frozen treats over to a zipper bag for storage so they can serve them up all summer long to your favorite pup!

Christmas Pancake Party

It’s a festive flapjack party when your Scout Elf returns home for the holidays! They’ll make a grand entrance by whipping up delicious pancakes for you all to enjoy together.


Materials:

  • Pancakes prepared according to favorite recipe
  • Array of fruit, candy and other toppings depending on the pancake
    • Raspberries
    • Mini marshmallows
    • Mini and regular chocolate chips
    • Bananas
    • Brown decorating icing
    • Blue decorating icing
    • Powdered sugar
    • Dried cherries
    • Strawberries
    • Dried mangos
    • Blue coated candies

Instructions:

  1. Your Scout Elf will get busy in the kitchen whipping up a batch up pancakes.
  2. Then, they will use an array of fruit, candy and other toppings to create pancakes that resemble themself or their furry friends!

Mini Story Time

Your elf can take a page from the book of this Scout Elf, who is having a mini reading session with his friends, the Plushee Pals® Mini Clip-ons.

Materials:


Instructions:

  1. To set up this bitty book reading, your elf will gather his friends, the Plushee Pals® Mini Clip-ons.
  2. Then, your elf will open the mini version of The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition, which is included with the Cozy Christmas Story Time set and read to their audience!
  3. Alternate option: Your elf could search online for the book cover of one of their favorite tales, print a small version of it and staple it to other miniature pages to form their own bitty book.

Bridge to Safety

Why did the elf cross the sink? “Jaws” because he wanted to! Your elf will take a daring trip over shark-filled waters in this this adventurous elf idea that can be staged in a bathroom or kitchen.

Materials:


Instructions:

  1. First, your elf will build the base of the bridge by gluing two paper straws end to end. They will repeat this step to create the two sides of the base. Helpful hint for elves: Add extra straws for longer sinks.
  2. For extra stability, your elf will glue a wooden craft stick under each set of connected straws.
  3. To complete the bridge, your elf will glue wooden craft sticks horizontally from straw to straw, spacing them evenly to create bridge planks.
  4. Finally, your elf will place the bridge over a sink where small sharks are lurking on blue construction paper “water.”
  5. Your elf will make a daring trip across the sink using their bridge to safety!
  6. As a finishing touch, your elf will cut out one of the jokes from the punny printable and tape it on a nearby wall to elicit a laugh from little ones.

Super Sweet Highway

Beep! Beep! Scout Elf coming through! Your elf will cruise along this sweet treat road using an easy-to-assemble Orna-Moments® vehicle.

Materials:


Instructions:

  1. To create this holiday crossing, your elf will use the package instructions to build the Snowflake Snowmobile and/or the Scout Elf Racer.
  2. Next, your elf will build a Christmas-inspired roadway by laying graham crackers in a straight line and using a sour candy belt to create two lanes.
  3. Your elf will scatter marshmallows along the roadway to give it a snowy look.
  4. Finally, your elf will hop onto their ride and drive along the super sweet highway, being careful not to cause a traffic jam with the Elf Pets®!

Spirited Sled Race

Ready to ride? Even without snowy terrain, your Elf Pets® Arctic Fox is ready to race through your home with your Scout Elf in tow for a swift and spirited sled ride.

  1. Your elf will use the package instructions to build the Orna-Moments® Snow Day Sled.
  2. Then, your elf will use Candy Cane Cable or string to attach the sled to the collar of your Elf Pets® Arctic Fox[es].
  3. Finally, your elf will get ready for an exhilarating sled race, courtesy of the arctic fox cub racing team!

Mini Mealtime

Just like you, Scout Elves and Elf Pets® reach for their favorite foods when their tummies start to rumble. The only difference? The food is miniature! You’ll get a chance to see some of their favorite tiny treats when they set up a mini meal.

  1. First, your Scout Elf will place small plates at a table. Helpful hint for elves: Check local craft stores for mini accessories.
  2. Then, they will serve plastic food (also available at most craft stores) or tiny bits of real food atop their plates.
  3. Order up! Your Scout Elf and Elf Pets® will find a seat at the table and dig in!

Working at the Pet Wash

Wash, rinse and repeat! Your Scout Elf will help your Elf Pets® get sudsy in a mini pet wash machine to make sure they’re fresh and clean for playtime with little ones.

Materials:


Instructions:

  1. Your Scout Elf will cut out a rectangular shape on the front and back of a tissue box to create an entrance and exit for the pet wash.
  2. Then, they will cut off the bottom of the box.
  3. Your elf will cover the frame with tissue paper.
  4. To create a sign, your elf will cut a small piece of construction paper, fold it in half and glue it on top of the box.
  5. Next, they will print and cut out the printable pet wash sign and glue it to the construction paper; the bubbles and suds can be added to the box for additional decoration.
  6. To create a sponge with bristles, your elf will cut little strands of construction paper and tape the fringe in the corners of the pet wash entrance.
  7. On the opposite end, your elf will glue strands of yarn to the inner top of the box to mark the pet wash exit.
  8. Finally, your elf will sit next to the pet wash on a small bench with a drying towel in hand to wait for your squeaky clean Elf Pets®.

Magical Snow Globe

Crafting a snow globe has never been easier, thanks to this Elf Pets: A Fox Cub’s Christmas Tale printable that your elf will use to create a paper plate snow globe swirling with snow!

Materials:


Instructions:

  1. Your elf will print and cut out all the snow globe pieces included in the printable.
  2. Then, your elf will glue the picture of the movie scene background as well as the arctic fox cub onto the paper plate.
  3. They will sprinkle fake snow or glitter over the picture and glue a clear pie pan top onto the plate to seal the snow globe.
  4. To complete this craft, they will glue the gold base from the printable onto the bottom of the plate. Helpful hint for elves: If you don’t want to lay the snow globe flat, tape it to a wall, prop it up against a tall object or use a plate stand.
  5. Your elf will sit next to their super cute magical snow globe and wait for you to see it and shake it!

Festive Speedway Race

Get ready to cheer! Your Scout Elf and all their special pals are eager to compete in an action-packed race in your home. The amazing lineup features all sorts of clever rides—plus everything needed to create an eye-catching racetrack and festive finish line.

  1. First, your elf will outline a speedway using low-tack decorative tape from Scout Elves at Play® Stick Quick.
  2. Next, your elf will pop out the Wintry Welcome Sign, Good Tidings Train and checkered flag crafts from Scout Elves at Play® Stick Quick. Your elf will follow the instructions in the booklet to finish these crafts.
  3. To create the perfect rides for the race, your elf will pop out and assemble the Christmas Scooter, Snow Day Sled, Wintry Wagon and Rockin’ Reindeer from the Scout Elves at Play® Orna-Moments™ line.
  4. Finally, your elf and their friends will jump on their favorite rides—excited to find out who will finish first!

Elf Pets® Balloon Parade

Everyone loves a parade, especially North Pole friends, who look forward to the seventh appearance of The Elf on the Shelf® balloon in the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® on November 22. Inspired by this event, your Scout Elf and their Elf Pets® will stage a parade of their own in your family’s home.

Materials:


Instructions:

  1. Instructions for Reindeer Balloon: First, your elf will inflate a green balloon, tie it off with a knot, and then tie Candy Cane Cable around the balloon knot and secure tightly. Next, your elf will cut brown construction paper in a circular shape for the nose and two spherical shapes for the reindeer ears. For the eyes, your elf will cut white construction paper in two small circles and brown construction paper in two smaller circles. Your elf will attach each eye (small brown circle on white circle) and the nose using painter’s tape. Finally, your elf will attach the balloon to the wall using painter’s tape; for antlers, your elf will tear off pieces of low-tack decorative tape and attach to the wall just above the ears.
  2. Instructions for Saint Bernard: First, your elf will inflate a white balloon, tie it off with a knot, and then tie Candy Cane Cable around the balloon knot and secure tightly. Next, your elf will cut brown construction paper in a circular shape for the nose; cut green construction paper in the shape of two floppy ears; and cut pink construction paper in the shape of a tongue. For the eyes, your elf will cut white construction paper in two small circles and brown construction paper in two smaller circles. Your elf will attach each eye (small brown circle on top of white circle), the nose and tongue using painter’s tape. Finally, your elf will attach the balloon to the wall using painter’s tape.
