Christmas Carnival

Christmas Carnival Idea Image

So many exciting things to do and see at the Christmas Carnival!


Materials:

  • Color printer
  • Card stock/copy paper
  • Printable
  • Straws, skewers, or pipe cleaners
  • Tape
  • Marshmallows

Instructions:

  1. First, your Scout Elf friend will print and cut out each of the carnival printables.
  2. Second, they will find straws, skewers or pipe cleaners and tape them to the sides of the printables as standing devices.
  3. Third, they will anchor the standing devices into large marshmallows to stand the printables upright.
  4. Finally, they will cut out any extra toys or prize printables that they like and host an extravaganzalorious Christmas carnival to celebrate their arrival!

Christmas Countdown Santa Printable

Let the countdown to Christmas BEGIN!


Materials:

  • Color printer
  • Cardstock/ copy paper
  • Printable
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • String

Instructions:

  1. To begin, your Scout Elf will print and cut out the Christmas countdown printable.
  2. Next, they will cut four-to-five-inch strips of white paper.
  3. Then, week by week, they will watch as kids loop one strip of paper to create Santa’s “beard” by Christmastime!

“I’m Bored” Activity Jar

For the next “I’m bored!”


Materials:

  • Empty bowl or jar
  • Scissors
  • Cardstock/copy paper
  • Marker

Instructions:

  1. First, your Scout Elf will begin by cutting three-to-four-inch strips of paper.
  2. Then they will come up with several cheer-filled, enjoyable activities and write one down on each strip of paper and fold.
  3. Next, they will put all the activity papers into the jar for kids to pull out one–by-one throughout summer to fill their days with joy!

Food Bingo

BINGO!


Materials:

  • Your favorite Christmas candy

Instructions:

  1. First, your Scout Elf will print and lay out the bingo charts.
  2. Next, they will cut out the printable bingo chips or they might leave your favorite Christmas candy to use as bingo chips—as long as you don’t eat it first!

Summer Bucket List Bingo

Scout Elves are here to celebrate the last day of school and leave kiddos with lots of summer activities!

Instructions:

  1. Your Scout Elf will prepare the printable.
  2. The elf will then lay out all the materials needed for children to cut out their bingo chips.

Shamrock Scavenger Hunt

St. Patricks Day scavenger hunt

Time to go a’searching. Scout Elves hide clues for young and old so soon you’ll find a pot of gold!


Materials:

  • Small pot
  • Gold wrapped chocolate coins
  • Color printer
  • Card stock/paper
  • Printable

Instructions:

  1. Your Scout Elf will hide clues around your home where prompted.
  2. The Scout Elf will then sit in the pot of gold waiting for you to solve the clues and find them at the end of the scavenger hunt.
  3. At the end of the scavenger hunt, the pot of gold can be safely moved to a different location. Be careful not to touch the Scout Elf!

Magical Candy Portal

Your Scout Elf set up a mystical North Pole portal and out popped an array of sweets! Oh my!


Materials:

  • Empty toilet paper roll

Instructions:

  1. Your elf will print and cut out the printable.
  2. They will cut out the circle in the middle of the portal and insert an empty toilet paper roll in the hole.
  3. They will tape the circle back on the toilet paper roll.
  4. They will fill the toilet paper roll with enough candy to pour out of the center of the portal.

You’ll wake to see your Scout Elf putting an elf-sized twist on traditional hopscotch. Good news…you can join the fun!

Your Scout Elf started putting together a puzzle, but now, they need your help! Can you find the missing pieces?

Instructions:

  1. Your elf will choose a puzzle to begin putting together.
  2. They will hide a specific number of pieces around a certain location in your home (living room, bedroom, Christmas tree, etc.)
  3. They will print and cut out the printable and then fill out the note, so when you wake you can help them find the remaining pieces needed to complete the puzzle.

Pin the Tail on the Elf Pets®

Get ready to play an old-fashioned game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey…or Elf Pets in this case! Your Scout Elf got started, but it looks like they could use some help.


Materials:

  • Printable(one for each Elf Pet)

  • Mini bandana for your Scout Elf
  • Regular size bandana for you

Instructions:

  1. Your elf will print and cut out the printable.

  3. They will tie a mini bandana around their eyes and then try to correctly pin the tail on the arctic fox, the antlers on the reindeer and the barrel on the St. Bernard’s collar.

In this cool elf caper, your Scout Elf must watch their step because the floor is made entirely of ice! How fast can they move around the ice?

Wheel of Good Fortune

Sugar and spice and everything nice! Your Scout Elf will set kind deeds in motion with this free printable that encourages little ones to partake in simple acts of kindness.

Materials:


Instructions:

  1. First, your elf will print and cut out the printable kind deed wheel.
  2. Next, they will use a brad to fasten the arrow to the wheel, leaving a small space between the brad and the paper to ensure a good spin.
  3. Your elf will sit next to the wheel and wait for you to give it a spin to see what kind deed you can do today.
  4. Bonus: Elves love reporting kids’ kind deeds to Santa, and they may bring the wheel back more than once for kids to spin again!

Instructions:

  1. Leave it up to your Scout Elf to create a game night everyone wants to be a part of! To get all their friends together, your elf created a tic-tac-toe board by crisscrossing four pieces of painter’s tape.
  2. To make the game more festive, your elf used red and green markers to mark marshmallows with X’s and O’s.
  3. Finally, your elf invited all their friends—including the Elf Pets® Saint Bernard and Elf Pets® Reindeer—to host a night of festive fun!

North Pole Putt Putt


Materials:

  • Green felt or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Candy cane
  • 1 mini marshmallow
  • Marker

Instructions:

  1. Fore! Nothing relaxes a Scout Elf more than a quick round of golf. Your Scout Elf will create a small putting green in your home by:
  2. Using scissors to cut out a unique shaped “green” out of felt or construction paper.
  3. Marking a hole on the course using a marker.
  4. Grabbing a candy cane to use as a putter, and a mini marshmallow to use as a golf ball. Hole in one!

Balloon Scavenger Hunt Surprise


Materials:

  • Helium balloons

  • Message Cards from Scout Elves at Play® kit (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Your Scout Elf plans to send you searching on a sweet scavenger hunt around the house! To start, your elf will gather helium balloons tied with string or ribbon.
  2. Next, your elf will write clues on the paper with markers and tape one to each of the balloons that will lead your family to a hidden treat! (Helpful hint for elves: you can label the balloons by date, or by family member for even more fun!)

Treasure Hunt

Materials:

  • Markers/Colored Pencils
  • Prizes or notes

Instructions:

  1. Shiver me timbers! It looks like your Scout Elf is in the mood to play!
  2. Scout Elves can use actual tiny presents, candy, or even fun notes as hidden treasure for your children to find throughout the living room. Your Scout Elf should also leave a trusty map, complete with all of the major landmarks in the room, to help tiny tots find all their goodies. Using markers or colored pencils, your elf will leave X’s on the map where they’ve hidden the treasures since “X” always marks the spot.
  3. Whew! Your family will enjoy all of the fun of treasure seeking in true North Pole style—without ever having to walk the plank.
