Halloween Elf on the Shelf Ideas

Christmas may be around the corner, but if you can’t wait to see your Scout Elf, try inviting them for a special fall visit to celebrate Halloween. Scout Elves love any celebration, so it’s no surprise they love Halloween, too. Just be warned, they may sneak a few bites of your candy! If your elf stops by for a visit on All Hallow’s Eve, they might recreate one of the spooktacular Halloween elf ideas below.

Oh Me, Oh My…Oh Mummy!

It’s time to get wrapping…Halloween style! While your Scout Elf is home for a special Halloween visit, they mummified some furry friends.

Materials:

  • Stuffed animals
  • Toilet paper
  • Glue dots (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Your Scout Elf will wrap toilet paper around your stuffed animals, turning them into mummies just in time for Halloween!
  2. They may use glue dots along the way to keep the toilet paper in place.

Scout Elf Dress-Up

When your Scout Elf visits for Halloween, they come in style…dressed up in these free, printable elf-sized Halloween costumes.

Materials:

  • Color printer
  • Card stock/paper
  • Printable
  • Scisssors
  • Tape

Instructions:

  1. Your elf will print and cut out the printable.
  2. They will surprise you, dressed up in a Halloween costume! Your elf will slip the candy corn costume over their head and tuck it into place under their collar.
  3. As another option, they will slip the jack-o-lantern costume over their head and tuck it into place under their collar. They will tape the stem of the pumpkin to the brim of their hat.

Pumpkin Elf on the Shelf

Your Scout Elf was playing in the pumpkin patch and created a look-alike friend. What a cute pair!

Materials:

  • Color printer
  • Card stock/paper
  • Printable
  • Scissors
  • Tape or glue dots
  • Skewer
  • Pumpkin
  • Red paint
  • Paintbrush

Instructions:

  1. Your elf will paint a pumpkin red.
  2. They will print and cut out the printable. (Helpful hint: Printable is designed to be printed on 11″x17″ paper. If you cannot print 11″x17″, select “fit to paper” in your printer’s settings.)
  3. They will tape the arms, legs and collar onto the pumpkin.
  4. They will tape the head to a skewer, to help with stability, and poke the skewer into top of the pumpkin.
  5. They will sit on the shelf, next to their pumpkin elf look-alike.

Sweet Dive!

It’s the *candiest* time of year, so it’s no surprise your Scout Elf is ready to dive into the celebrations with a special Halloween visit!

Materials:

  • Halloween bucket
  • Halloween candy

Instructions:

  1. Your Scout Elf spied the Halloween candy…it won’t be long before they perform a sweet dive, snagging some sweet treats along the way!

Halloween Greetings

Happy Halloween from your North Pole friends! Your Scout Elf and Elf Pets love to celebrate every holiday, so they’ve joined you for a surprise visit and brought along a very special message.

Materials:

  • Color printer
  • Card stock/paper
  • Printable
  • Scisssors
  • Halloween decor

Instructions:

  1. Your elf will print and cut out the printable.
  2. They will surprise you by hiding among the Halloween décor with their Halloween greeting card nearby.
